六祖甜茶又稱南華甜茶，是南華寺六祖惠能祖師在曹溪周圍大山中所發現，從唐代流傳至今千年。南華寺僧人以殼斗科植物多穗石柯嫩枝葉製成。其茶色橙紅，氣味芳香，以甜味濃重區別於一般青茶而成為南華寺特產。南華甜茶純天然野生，直接採摘曬乾，無任何污染、添加劑。味甘香醇可口，在佛教界稱之為禪茶，屬清涼甜茶。製作過程嚴謹天然不加任何額外添加劑安全可靠。多穗石柯葉味甘、微苦，性平。治濕熱瀉痢；治高血壓病。清熱解毒，化痰，祛風，治肺熱咳嗽，癰疽瘡瘍，皮膚瘙癢。現代研究多穗石柯葉具有抗菌、抗炎、抗氧化、降血壓、降血糖、降血脂、抗腫瘤等作用。其降血糖之效卻有甘甜味故很受糖尿人士歡迎。本品為日常清熱解毒之優良保健良品但非用作醫療之用。切記以其性清熱之故孕婦、嬰幼兒、低血糖、低血壓者慎用或事前向醫師查詢。
 
Master Huineng Sweet Zen Tea, also known as Nanhua Sweet Tea, was discovered by the Sixth Patriarch Huineng of Nanhua Temple in the mountains around Caoxi. It has been passed down for a thousand years since the Tang Dynasty. The monks of Nanhua Temple made it from the tender branches and leaves of the Fagaceae plant, Lithospermum multiflorum. The tea is orange-red in color and aromatic in smell. Its strong sweetness distinguishes it from ordinary green tea, making it a specialty of Nanhua Temple.
